LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 1998--
The Clear Alternative to Cellular is Here
Sprint PCS, the nation's largest 100 percent digital, 100 percent PCS (Personal Communications Service), single-technology wireless network, has announced the launch of its wireless service in Las Vegas.
The launch represents the 164th metropolitan market to offer Sprint PCS nationwide wireless service. In addition to Las Vegas, Sprint PCS recently launched service in Stamford, Conn.; and Gainesville, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Tampa and Saint Petersburg, Fla.; continuing the company's rapid network expansion.
"Las Vegas is one of the most sophisticated wireless markets in the country, so consumers and business here know a quality product when they hear one," said John Bischoff, area vice president for Sprint PCS. "That's why we're not only providing Las Vegans with a better phone, but we're also giving them a clearer connection that's more secure than conventional cellular service." Sprint PCS invites Las Vegas customers to experience that quality for themselves by making a free call at one of the company's Sprint PCS retail locations.
"Sprint PCS does not require any long-term, cellular-style contract commitment," said Bischoff. "And our affordable service plans are generally priced less than comparable service offerings from conventional cellular or wireless systems."
According to Bischoff, Sprint PCS service outlined a number of clear advantages over existing wireless service.
