Intel is expected to have a good quarter but there are concerns about competition going forward into 1999. I'm sure you've noticed the lack of a swing prior to their announcement. Jeff

Banks reporting: Here are the results of several banks that reported today. I'm just trying to see if a positive pattern is perceptible. This might then be applicable to the regional banks. I am following those in particular. quote.yahoo.com

PFE..bad news! INTC..good news! 9 cents above but will pale in face of PFE's news.. This whole rally was just because the financials were oversold and they afforded an opportunity. Now major companies earnings are showing we will have further pressure. That is why I don't like 'euphoria' that sets in when there is one or two days of rally. I noted that traders were ignoring their technical sell signals last evening and not bothering to sell their positions. I still like the severely beaten the best of all. Their 'earnings reports' will surprise when they do better than expected. important to note..last defensive play some investors used were the major drugs.. Well that's that. PFE came in 5 cents under estimates down 5 already on Instinet. Looking tomorrow morning to grab puts on the drug group. Might have a replay of the brokerages.
