Any ideas on pin compatibility for this beast? If it is to support DRDRAM, can it still be pin compatible with the MXi?

Pravin.

What are your comments on the Jalapeno?

Pravin,

Jalapeno appears to have been architected using a number of sound principles. Clearly it is the most coherent architectural philosophy that has ever come out of Cyrix.

1. A deep pipeline which allows for a high clock rate.
2. A sizeable on-chip L2, for low memory latency.
3. High performance graphics.

The big questions are:

1. When?
2. KNI?
3. Actual megahertz?

As usual, the profitability will depend on the relative performance vs. the competition at the time it actually makes it to market. It does seem to be a big step in the right direction. If it was here today, I would be buying NSM stock like crazy..... ;^)
