Harry

That was the most entertaining post I've read on YHOO or SI since I started reading posts. I'm going to pass on your tip, though. I see you are also an expert on AENG and HMSK, two stocks your broker probably got you into. I limit myself to NYSE and NASDAQ stocks. I'm staying long. You should stay away.

Ok, Harry, I'll bite. Give me the name of ONE, repeat, ONE, senior NXTL person who left. A large group, eh? Let's see, NXTL has what? 8,000 employees? In a company of that size there are always people coming and going for a bevy of reasons. And, no doubt, there have been sales people who have left but there have also been many added.

I await your response.

Arnie

P.S. The issue isn't whether NXTL is a short. Nay, it's the lack of substance to your empty assertions.

Harry: What I have heard is that N is terminating "non-productive" personnel that are not contributing to the bottom line. N is very conscious of the wall of worry that exists in the world's markets (the "R" word), and are paring expenses to lessen the need to go to the bond market. What is probably leaving is deadweight, either knowing the ax is about to fall, or being told "bye-bye".
There have been several service initiatives implemented this last Q, and rave reviews about its effectiveness. The major problem that is being worked on is adding cell sites and switches in those areas where demand has exceeded projected growth (# new subs + MOU).
That's what I've heard, FWIW. :-)

Harry:

>> Sales force having problems because nobody guiding them and this is problems because they just hired a slew of new ones. They need help and assistance and can't get it. Service is not very good after the sale. Could be trouble down the road. >>

Nextel suffers from being a one horse pony in a mutihatted, open information universe. Ackerson is not aware of the turnover at the local level. Reps are leaving to greener pasters - the majority of what are in "indirect-land" where they can resume selling Nextel but bundle long distance, internet and a whole slew of other services into their warm network channels.

NextLink is de-linked in my opinion. Craig could be doing so much better tying these two together, but egos in "N" land are too big.

Service after the sale is fine as far as I can see. Nextel's billing still needs a lot of work. The i1000 phone is doing great as far as I can tell. I'm expanding my network - now over 110 phones here in Chicago. Our monthly billing is from $10,000-15,000 per month.

Nextel's missing market is the market that I am pursuing with a vengence: trust networks between individuals between and among separate companies who desire to work together more closely. We wire these people with Nextel phones, IP-telephony, webpages, referral technologies, talking e-mail, PDA's, etc. in ways that increase their productivity, creativity and sales. We have an expanding warm market far beyond the 110 in our originating "trust network" here in Chicago.

I know this sounds crazy, but I will report back to you guys on my progress. We will be expanding to three other cities over the next few months.

Keep in mind that IP telephony is really going to surprise everyone. We are firmly committed to this trend and have a perfect match with Nextel. We can pay 4.9 cents on our IP LD calls instead of Nextel's 15 cent rate. In addition, we get a ton of services that I've been waiting for Nextel to deliver: 99 fax on demands, 99 voice mailboxes, caller hold, 9 way caller conferencing, music background, virtual assistant, subconferencing, caller ID notification, fax send/receive from anyone anywhere anytime, etc. Nextel should buy this little company based in Draper UT - I-Link. They have the best patents in the business, utilize network marketing and are growing fast.

Nextel and network marketing would be a huge HOME run.

Craig, I hope you are listening. If anyone wants my opinion you can contact me via my new companies website at: smartbandwidth.com
