Because the 2 cycle cache access is fully pipelined, it will not have a detrimental effect. However due to the K7s longer pipeline vs K6, if there is a data dependency of an item farther along the pipe, then it will be expressed as a slightly longer time for the pipeline bubble to propagate until the data is ready.

3D ops will be the least likely to have pipeline data dependencies, since they can easily be reordered and also operate on longer data lengths than scalar operations.
