As far as starting a hedge fund, I think you would need at least $10,000, in equity to get a couple of million from the brokerage houses to start. I'm not sure that I want to put up that kind of money.

I think you need a college education too, to get a 99 times your assets in the form of a loan. Because....they'd never find my ass....if they lent that kinda money to me...LOL!

For what it's worth, up 'till only two months ago or so, a typical hedge fund could put down only 15 - 20% to be invested in Brady Bonds of various countries (Brazil, Argentina, etc.)... Not quite 10% margin deposit, but not that far off, either
