Right. Unfortunately, Chicken Little stories drive markets down and keep them there. Nobody wants to hold stock if the sky is going to fall.

Let's see, China recently made available something like 18 billion dollars for just next year to help develop computer infrastructure. Did that make page one? There are other stories but they don't seem to qualify for print.

I think the way the editors work is that they copy each other's story. That way there is little risk to your editorial job. If the same disaster story is repeated enough times it becomes real - Orson Wells - War of the Worlds - is good example. How do you stop it?
