I agree that the market is 'reaching' for any news. There is no significant leadership at this point that is stronger than Intel and a few of the other blue chip tech stocks. The internuts can be expected to rally to at least some degree even though they have lost the position as leaders for a move up. I don't think the market knows what good news would look like for the internuts - an acquisition? A higher number of internet users? Favorable consumer purchasing trends? - Just about anything you can imagine is already factored into them. On the other hand, the beaten down semis and other tech sectors can benefit from just mildly up-beat news and that could become fuel for a bit of a rally - but not a roaring bull.
