What's the point, if two aren't available?

You appear to be in favor of divorce in situations where there is serious disagreement between the partners, short even of physical abuse (your definition of abuse is tendentious.)

Obviously then, you think that sometimes one parent is better than two. That there are better situations sometimes (very marginally, I think) leads us nowhere. Peoples family situations are what they are. People seldom choose to live and struggle alone without reason. People seldom divorce on a mere whim. Even criminals generally prefer company.

But you would deny people who have already lost at the mating lottery any compensation in the form of a child's love. How Christian of you.
