EPS is poor indicator of performance, financial engineering is rampant.
For INTC this quarter-
R&D fell as a percent of revs.
Operating income was down on a nonshare adjusted basis.
Capex was down 40%.
Capex was less than depreciation.
Stock repurchase was up 700%.

Core seasonally adjusted quarterly EPS is running about .80c with no growth. .80 x 4 = $3.20. At 5% long bond max pe on no growth is 20.
20 x $3.20 is 64. INTC is worth max of 64. Would have had to do $1.02 this qt. to be worth 82. Maybe those "stupid" pros on instinet do their homework. Flame helmet on. Best wishes, Tim
