GM,

RE: Intel's reduction in capex from 4.5 to 4.2 billion doesn't look positive...

I believe INTC's 1998 year ends in December, so the $300K reduction applies to the last 4 months as well as the next 2. I suspect that it was already well understood by the street.

FWIW,
Ian.

GM; You have to consider PFE's miss for the direction tomorrow. They blew their quarter by a nickel. Not good as big boys will wonder who is next? If PFE can't make numbers, who will?

Gottfried, But, this market is so emotional anything
might happen tomorrow.

Agreed. Today's IBD had the R/S for AMAT up to 65 for Friday which is the highest it has been since February '98. However, the number of Funds owning were down from 378 to 375. The R/S figures probably were based on Monday's action.

Naturally, the above is only my opinions and the data which I have reviewed from the IBD. Readers are reminded the old saving, "caveat emptor (buyer/reader beware)."
