FYI, most multinational companies use currency hedges to isolate themselve from such fluctuations as you've described. It is possible but not likely that the Yen appreciation can cause any immediate change in DRAM prices.

no. demand will decrease. instead of putting 64MBs in a computer, you go with 32.

as for the currency situation i view it as somewhat of a non-sequitor. the yen has gone too high.
