All this talk about AMD and other minor microprocessor players is completely ridiculous.

Paul, you should stop defending Intel and why they are superior. You know it and I know it, screw the rest of the doubters.

Let me help you fruitloops create a vision:

*Next qtr = Intel posts sequential revenue growth 10% and highest EPS in company's history.
*Intel releases over 25 new microprocessor products next year.
*Intel's late stage Pentiums will crank out around 750 mHz.
*Momentum for Merced and Windows NT 5.0 build throughout next year.
*Merced debuts at 800 Megahertz by 2000, 1st qtr. (mainly for servers and some workstations.)
*Asia market turns by mid-2000 and microprocessor demand reaches record levels. (wake up...30+% is what I mean)
*Merced debuts for personal PC and laptop market at 1.5 GIGAhertz.
*Bandwith bullshit is conquered and cable becomes de facto standard delivery mechanism.
*Merced tops 3 GIGAhertz by mid=2002.
*AMD declares bankruptcy.
*Intel hits $400.

End of damn story.

Buy now, buy higher, or buy 2,3 or 10 points cheaper but the key is to be a long term holder. Start position now and buy like hell over the next 6 months.

EOM - Amir

Paul,

Especially when Intel will be introducing Cascades and Coppermine products in 1999.

Do you have any links to about the L2 in these chips? The older roadmaps don't show them with any on-chip L2, while you said that they will have from 256K to 1MB of on-chip L2.
