Doc - you are correct that the credit card biz has future outlook problems, and that will keep a lid on things, but I shorted at 55, and PVN closed at 63, and could get to 70 tomorrow based on better than expected earnings. Pass the Maalox. I need the bear to drop my other other shorts while I wait this one out. This was a wierd day, despite market weakness, my shorts were divided between positive and negative, as were my gold stocks, ASA up, NEM down. Indecisive market, I guess. Futures down only a little, and I've stopped counting on those damn things to predict tomorrow. FWIW, Japan up slightly, China down slightly, and Singapore and Korea down a bunch.
