NEC Achieves World Record TPC-C Results on 8 CPU-based
Express5800 Intel Architecture Windows NT Server

SEATTLE, March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- NEC Corporation (NYSE: NIPNY - news) today announced world record
tpmC(TM) results on the industry acknowledged TPC-C(TM) benchmark with its Express5800(TM) Intel(R) Architecture-based server running the Microsoft(R) Windows NT Server(R), Enterprise Edition 4.0 operating
system. These benchmarks featured Microsoft SQL Server, Enterprise Edition(TM) 6.5 database management system with NEC's Express5800 8-CPU symmetrical multiprocessor (SMP) server. The system achieved audited results of 16,216.10 tpmC measuring TPC-C(TM) throughput for the 8-CPU server.
