Chuca, Even the high grade dirt in the paleo channels will not be homogeneous with respect to size distribution. A paleo channel is just an old stream bed. How consistant is the material you have seen in the desert dirty stream beds that you have looked at so far? Once the mineralization is known, along with the paleo channel mapping, it should be possible to trace back to the hard rock source of the pms. The source should be of higher grade than the alluvial deposits, if it still exists. Tim
