Re: "Here's an interesting tid bit: AMD just had their best quarter in more than a year when they reported a positive $.01 EPS. Intel's average DAILY EPS for the quarter was $.01. In other words, Intel made more money per share in one day than AMD did for the entire quarter. Kind of puts things in perspective "

And Intel has many more shares. AMD's total quarter profits equal about 45 minutes of Intel profits.

Fred - Re: " Intel made more money per share in one day than AMD did for the entire quarter. Kind of puts things in perspective <ggg>. "

Yes, that is an excellent perspective.

It will truly be interesting to see the tides and rip-tides at work tomorrow pushing Intel's stock down and up.

But as you noted, it is a long and slow race.

Great results. ASPs steady or rising. Top line growth. Bottom line growth (QTQ). Rising revenues. Great pipeline. Celeron a flaming success. Xeon a flaming success. Production limited.

Plus - Cable (high bandwidth)access coming on. StrongArm. Yields sensational. Y2K kick to replace 386, 486 machines. Weakening dollar boosting sales overseas. .18 process coming on. Believable roadmap. Belieavable management.

Couldn't possibly be a clearer sell signal (if you are Tom Kurlak or a hedge fund manager).

Meanwhile some of us get rich slowly.
