Here is some background on TEVE:

TelVue Corporation is a public company and is an FCC registered Interexchange Telecommunications Carrier whose core business is providing value added automated ordering services principally associated with the Cable TV industry in the areas of Pay Per View (PPV) television.

In addition, TelVue provides other automated telephone transactional services for the cable industry, the Direct Response Advertising Industry , Internet related businesses and the Telephone industry.

TelVue Corporation began as a subsidiary of Science Dynamics Corp of
Cherry Hill NJ and was "spun-off" as a separate public company in 1986. Using patents developed by Science Dynamics Corp., TelVue began providing Cable-TV companies with a method of taking and processing their customers' orders for individually viewed and billed movies and events (Pay Per View - "PPV") without the need for a live operator or the technical requirement for a "two-way interactive" cable system. TelVue's proprietary technology allows the cable subscriber to order the movie or event of his choice by calling an 800 telephone number associated with the program.

Without any further intervention by the cable subscriber, he is identified by the cable system, his programming choice is registered, his converter box is activated and he is billed for the program. Once the order is confirmed, the caller hears an automated announcement that indicates the name of his cable company, the title of the program, the start time and channel on which it can be viewed.

From 1986 through 1990, TelVue installed equipment near each of its cable affiliates in the form of "Point of Presence" (POP) locations. This equipment received the call and read codes imbedded within the telephone call to identify the caller and ordering information by means of the 800 number called (DNIS) and the caller's telephone number (ANI).

In 1990, TelVue began centralizing equipment and "back-hauling" calls from around the nation to its headquarters location in Mt. Laurel, NJ where they are processed. The centralized method allows for greater call handling efficiency through better traffic management and less chance for failure through equipment and trunk redundancy. It also
affords a greater level of options and features for cable operators. Now, most cable systems have migrated their service to the centralized system.

In 1994. TelVue began expanding its product features and business lines. That year we introduced "Pay Per View Plus", (PPV+) which allowed interactive advertising to be placed at the end of a PPV order confirmation message. The advertisement can be used by the cable system or an outside advertiser as part of a promotion with the cable company.

HBO and Domino's Pizza are advertisers among others. In 1995 TelVue announced a system that identifies the source of a direct response advertising commercial order run on any channel of a local cable tv system and associates a caller with a specific cable system. This allows advertisers to track the efficiency of the media buys on cable TV even when cable systems share ZIP codes or telephone exchanges.
In conjunction with this development TelVue began the business of distributing direct response commercials to cable systems and marketing their advertising time. In 1998 TelVue began offering cable affiliates and cable programming services the ability to have their customers order PPV movies and events over the Internet directly through their websites or from TelVue's consumer website ppvorder.com.
