Bob, my take was that by inviting Patriot Scientific to report on its PSC1000 chip at an international meeting with the likes of Sun Microsystems, Compaq and Silicon Graphics at Cern Switzerland, they were receiving crucial exposure for the potential of their chip. Only time will tell if other companies see this chip as a valuable solution for some embedded Java/jini processor applications. Bill Joy says the potential for jini is enormous. His analogy was that just as HTML allowed computers to communicate with humans, jini allows computers to talk to computers. The biggest requirement is the need for a stable operating system which Joy says Window's NT 5 can never be. It will always be inherently buggy according to him.

Just my take,
