During AMZN downturn of last week, we saw the stock drop quickly from a high on October 6 of 112 1/4, to a low of 80 on the morning of October 8th. The range from high to low was 32 1/4 points.

If we take the most common 50% and 62% retracement numbers, we get values of 96 and 100 respectively as possible retracement values. On Monday, October 12, AMZN hit a high of 101 and immediately has started back down in the major direction of the trend. I am using a 50-day moving average to determine the direction of the trend.

AMZN seems continuing lower at this time. It has tried to rally, but failed. It is below its 50 day moving average. The MACD is pointing lower. Momentum is starting down again.

1. I bought the stock today, so that's one answer.

William,

This could mean you just expect the stock price to rise. There is no correlation between the fundamentals and the stock price.

2. I would need to suffer a defeat
before I admitted it (that's usually the sequence).

I thought maybe you were wise enough to see what was occuring to AMZN <VBG> Time marches on and may I win;-)

Glenn
