That was no Constitutional crisis, that was a policy difference.

Zoltan, my friend, I laughed aloud when I read that. The Reagan administration covertly sold arms to an enemy nation in order to illegally finance a mercenary war against a small country of Indian peasants, defying the legitimate vote and will of Congress. Then it shredded a bunch of documents and allegedly lied about the matter before Congress.

That's a policy difference?

Zoltan, are you sure your real name isn't Ollie North? Maybe you're Elliot Abrams? How about G. Gordon Liddy?

Now that is shamelessly stupid.

And that was shamelessly gratuitous. Be nice. :-)

>>> >>If you weren't willing to impeach Reagan during
Iran-Contra, a true constitutional crisis, why all the hullabaloo over this?

That was no Constitutional crisis, that was a policy difference.
<<<

When the Administration violates a federal law specifically written to restrain them from taking a particular action, that's a constitutional crisis.

When they use the intelligence services in that violation of the law, that's a constitutional crisis.

When they illegally and secretly sell arms to our most virulent terrorist enemy to prop up a clearly failed policy and then indulge in theft of assets derived from that in a series of actions clearly requiring an illegal conspiracy to conduct, that is a constitutional crisis.

When the DEA is instructed not to interdict particular figures insomuch as they are furthering this cabal in it's aims, that is a constitutional crisis.

If the Republican Senate endeavors to protect the central figures with grants of immunity so as to disable the Judiciary, the third branch of government, that is a constitutional crisis.

When an ex-actress runs the country, occassionally through her senile husband's 'hearing aid', that is a constitutional crisis.

You don't see any constitutional crisis there. But you think getting a BJ from a pretty and aggressive young thing is one. Now that is shamelessly stupid.

Cheers,
Chaz
