To All: Interesting article in ISIR this week re: the Zenit crash. Headlines say "U.S. companies shun Zenit probe." It goes on to point out how Hughes and Lor in hot water for helping the Chinese and apparantly don't want a repeat. Lor would need a license in order to assist with the probe but so far has not filed for one. It looks like they don't want a Long March repeat. Another article points out that the Russian government including those involved with their space program are among the most corrupt in the world. China was close behind. It is ironic that Iridium was able to successfully launch a good portion of their constellation on Long March rockets without a hitch. I think they even used a Proton but I am not sure. Blind luck or what? Let's hope that Loral's post Zenit launch strategy mitigates the corruption factor. It looks like they were caught up in it with Zenit.
