I retired last year after selling computers from the beginning of the PC era. This may not be indicative of the market, but I know one of my former large customers is buying PCs like crazy (Dell), as they move to new lan based systems in preparation for the Y2K. I tend to believe Gartner is wrong that all of the money will flow to other markets and cause PC sales to drop.
