Steve, I was recently invited to a private demo at Sony's HDTV lab. They have the technology to clean up movies (old and new) so that they sparkle in ultra-high res. I sat in a room watching a 20-foot wide screen driven solely by their HDTV projector. I would say that it was like going to the movies, except that it was better.

Sony is pumping out HDTV-ready movies at a high rate. Once monitor prices fall a bit, I predict that HDTV will become a "must have" for every home.
