>>>I've given some thought to closing my CKFR account (I pay the same $9.95 per month as you) and transferring over to Intuit's service (which, as we know, is also run by CKFR). My only hesitation is the knowledge that the Intuit-based service is significantly behind CKFR-direct in terms of the hit ratio of fully electronic remittances.

You can get around the problem by signing with a bank that had been with CheckFree before the ISC acquisition. That way you get the same, high incidence of electronic transactions, but a $5.95 price tag.

What region of the country are you in? I bet I might find a bank that fits the description.
