Video Conferencing Support - After a month of testing its stability, we are now supporting our most demanding retail clients utilizing our Video Conferencing Server. We have been supporting our institutional accounts with such services for more than a year primarly for their ability to have the most current technology and ample bandwidth. With recent bandwidth availability (namely affordable ISDN, and cable modems), for clients with 33.6 or greater (64k or greater recommended), direct, immediate, realtime video conferencing connectivity with our Trading Desk is now available. Our clients can give orders, cancels, outs, cancels and replacement orders, get reports and feedback in realtime. As many ofyou know, I head our firms' technology efforts. I am very excited as this provides one of the industry's most intuitive platforms for traders. To date, it has worked great, with our traders and clients being able to freely and securely communicate with real time video and audio feeds. For traders with the proper bandwidth ( I recommend 64k or greater), there is no better service. Concerns about internet reliability are resolved by the redundant, quality, communication mehtods available in the event of a failure (phone, ICQ and EMAIL). If anyone is interested in checking out this service, please see yamner.com . I'd be glad to meet with you 'online' one morning and say hi! Also, I found the CUSeeMe technology very intuitive, far greater than any text based chat site. Some of the traders on this board might be interested in forming a Video Conference Chat room to discuss the markets. Its not something I would handle as we are busy enough supporting our traders, but if anyone has the impetus, I can walk you through the technology. Regards, Steve@yamner.comyamner.com
