>>Joe, bid 29 3/6 x 7/16 ask. with my luck I will get out this week above 30 and the stock will blow past 32-33... who knows. I really believe its going to be testing 40 within 6 months , but my stomach can't take the 25 to 32 trading range anymore. If G-Span lowers rates and COMS announces the ATT deal that should be enough to get it over the hump, otherwise...<<

Yeah, I know what you mean about going down. I think that
was my 4th trip<gg>.

Matt pulled a good move and sold at around 30,31. I may
think of the same, if it looks like we're going for
another trip south. For now, I'm going to ride it up, and I think
it may try to crack 33. I'll see how it goes, if resistance
is a little tough, then I will consider backing off some.
Heck, we can make a lot of money just by selling when it's
going down to 25, and rebuying low (easier said than done though).

This last time, it took me by surprise that we went to 25
because, unlike the past, this time
COMS fundamentals are good. It went down for market reasons,
which is something I have to stay focused on.

But, this time, I'm starting to have the feeling that people
are getting their confidence back in tech and tech stocks
are very oversold. MSFT reports
early next week I think. So my strategy is to ride this
snowballing confidence in tech for a while...maybe do a little
profit taking as Wayne suggested in a few days on the way up.

I haven't lost faith that this stock will see 40's. Now
it's a market problem...not a COMS problem. But, IMO, the
market will be getting it's confidence back in tech. We'll
see.

I bet Wayne's glad he's long today<gg>. I wonder if he's
going short at 31 or so (for profit taking)...we'll have
to bug him about this, since he's calling some good moves
lately.

Also, fuz, the company is doing better to the point that
it doesn't HAVE TO get this AT&T contract (I'm not even sure
why/how the COMS name is associated with it). COMS is starting
to have so many quality products that it will win one
way or another.

Lucent, 3Com Introduce New Switches
InformationWeek - 10/14/98; 12:00 a.m. ET

Two major networking companies unveiled switches for LANs, products
that add yet more capacity to meet the demands of bandwidth-hungry
applications.

Murray Hill, N.J.-based Lucent (company profile), as expected, started
selling its Cajun Campus family of switches, running the gamut from
stackabledesktop switches to high-end, chassis-based products that act
as the LAN backbone. The devices range in capacity from 4 gigabits per
second to 80 Gbps, and in price from $1,695 to $23,000.

The Cajun Campus line consists of rebranded products from three
acquisitions -- of LANNet,Prominet, and Agile Networks. The products
represent Lucent's first major push into the market for LAN data-
networking devices.

Meanwhile, Santa Clara, Calif.-based 3Com (company profile) introduced
the packet-switching version of its next-generation LANswitch, the
CoreBuilder 9000. This switch is intended to be used as the core of a
LAN,supporting connections to the wiring closet and edge-networking
devices.

The CoreBuilder 9000 has backplane capacity of 560 Gbps, and can
support 126 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 504 Fast Ethernet ports.
Pricing for a base package, available now, starts at $35,800.

The ATM version of the CoreBuilder 900 started shipping last month.
