(NewsTraders) -- America Online (AOL) revealed a 5.0% investment stake in Sportline USA Inc. (SPLN) with ownership of one million common shares, according to an original Schedule 13G.

America Online acquired the shares as part of its recent three-year agreement with Sportsline, under which America Online received about $23 million in cash, Sportsline stock and incentive-based warrants. In return, Sportsline will provide America Online with sports news and statistics as well as major events coverage and merchandise, among other things.
