Lisa:

Favors is talking about a 21 day Envelope Channel with a 3 1/2% Std Deviation... I'm not sure where you can find it on the net...

Lisa:

What it shows is when the Dow is rising it hugs the upper band and a dip below the lower band has been a good buying opportunity.

Not the case any more. The Dow hasn't touched the upper band since 7/17/98.

lisa: Two ways to get a trading band...Bollingers and Envelopes! An Envelope is like a moving average with deviation of a given (+/-) percent and can be weighted as are moving averages.

So, Favors trading band is an envelope, with an exponential weighting and a deviation of (+&-) 3.5%.

I use something similar myself....<g>
