Wrong! <INTC,AAPL,AMD All beated estimate and all got knock down...>

They did great.. AMD was good for 25% before earnings, AAPL good for 4 points and I know trader who made 6 in 2 days. INTC was good from the moment it reported it would beat estimates until about Wednesday morning.

VTSS was good for 3 and if it ultimately beats than retreates, you can't say I didn't have a great earnings play on this one. Of course if I made the mistake of holding a stock that has run up on positive earnings expectations that is another story. You can NOT expect to gain over 6 points on a stock and then have the stock continue UP....through earnings. What about the traders that want to take their profits? I know I was one of them.

Unfortunately, all you can do is wait for a retreat in the stock and get back in. NVLS gave 6 points and then it retreated and gave another 4 1/2 today. That is the result of earnings on stocks that have RUN UP..

Of course this is usually what happens to 'popular' stocks. You really won't see a stock like WPSN, OMI or LXK sell off on earnings, there are not that many traders who went in to trade these on earnings. Chances are they are 'investors' who will continue to hold their stocks through a good report, chances are that these investors had them way before the report.
