Thanks for the post...see my comments below... >Steve, your new video conferencing sounds absolutely fabulous to me.Could I ask you a couple stupid questions about how it would work; 1) Does it work over the internet so that I could be also on-line watching quotes, news, etc? **yes standard internet connection...ISP, cable modem, ISDN, T1, from your office. The software is White Pines' CUSee me (see yamner.com one of the industry's best video conferencing software..download it (there is 30 days liscense # on our site for those interested in demoing the service) and try it. Its very cool. 2) Is it some kind of dedicated connection that is always open between me and you, or do I have to connect somehow when I want to place a trade? **You would have the conferecing software running during the session, or running whenever you want. Then you simply maximize the app, and talk freely with our traders...its like having a 100% dedicated phone line to a trading desk... think of it like having a speaker phone, dedicated connection to the trading desk...with video which is good to have...associates the sound to the video..with backups and redundancy. I'm picturing some kind of connection that would be open all day, so that while I sat in Ken Wolff's chat room I could just relay Ken's buy/sells directly to your trader in almost real time. Through the day would just be something like; "Steve, buy Dell" "Steve, short Yahoo" "Sell Dell" "Cover Yahoo" **EXACTLY. Infact we might even be discussing the stock, talking about getting it ready to buy, setting up a few executions systems, talking about the stocks action, whether you might want to get it here or the best way to get it...you'd then say, "Buy 1000 Dell (mkt or lmt) etc...you might get feedback, such as "your missing your limit, i'd step up and pay the 1/16 higher since there is ample stock there..' youd' get an immediate, realtime cancel, out, and then immediate report on the fill... Must be equipment needed on my end? Just about any pentium will work...the bandwidth is the issue. It is a smart technology in that audio is the number one priority, about 8k max, then video...yet you can limit total bandwidth....audio always gets first 8 and then video gets extra. If this could work the way I picture it, you'd really be on to something. ** It does work. Its premier, first class for the most demanding trader. the experiences we've had with many of our clients traders has been fantastic, yet its all about bandwidth..the cable modem gang loves it,..real time audio and video (maybe 1/2 second delay if that)...yet about 20% of the 33.6 connections have a few problems which need to get tweaked...some 33.6 get throttled down on their ISPs..and as well, if you are pushing the limits of the connection already with quotes, etc...well, bandwidth isnt unlimited... You're doing an excellent job. Keep it up. Whether you want it for trading or not, the CUseeme tech is pretty cool and should be checked out. **thanks. Steve@yamner.com
