Making Order Out of Chaos: Alydaar Brings Intelligence to the Enterprise

Revolutionary Set of Web-Enabling ERP Tools Makes the Business of Business Transparent

CHARLOTTE, NC, October 15, 1998 – Alydaar Software Corp. (NASDAQ: ALYD) today announced a line of web-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications that intuitively streamlines a company's information technology infrastructure. With the web-based management system, Alydaar's ERP solutions bring a whole new level of simplicity and flexibility to business.

Working within a company's existing IT system, Alydaar's ERP applications bring together data stored in different parts of a network and gives them intelligence. This intelligence--or functionality--is based on code that was previously developed to solve business problems. Alydaar has developed modules to meet the needs of different aspects of a business including human resources, sales force automation, and procurement. Based on open architecture, the modules are fully platform and language independent.

"Alydaar's ERP applications stand to revolutionize the business of business," said Bob Gruder, chief executive officer of Alydaar. "In theory the catalysts to use ERP are the cost benefit and the simplicity that result from it. Within the software industry, this is preached but not often practiced. Alydaar's ERP systems can be fully implemented into a company's system within three weeks and at minimal expense. Our goal is to make business more simple and efficient, not more costly and complex."

Alydaar has purchased the right to the ERP technology from SenseNet, a New York City-based software development firm. To date, these ERP software modules have been installed in several Fortune 500 corporations around the world. Clients include: Eastman Kodak (EK), Lucent Technologies (LU), Pfizer (PFE), Sprint (FON), and Warner Bros. (TWX).

At Pfizer, the Customer Advocacy Group (CAG), a division that provides customer support information, needed to find a more efficient way to store and share key data, as well as streamline interactions among its internal groups. Working with SenseNet, the team developed an intranet that changed Pfizer's ability to serve its various customer constituencies and streamlined internal processes.

Pfizer's new intranet system includes: a file-sharing function that allows both CAG and key non-CAG partners to view proprietary reports issued by various Pfizer groups; a project management utility that chronicles project progress; and a broadcast system that instantaneously alerts members of developments and time-sensitive matters. This system has resulted in significant cost and time reductions for the Pfizer team.

Through its work with Pfizer and other clients, SenseNet developed a library of twenty-five ERP modules that meet the needs of different industries and departments. These modules provide virtual plug-and-play ERP solutions and operate across an internet, intranet or extranet. Oversight and maintenance of these modules is executed over the Web.

Alydaar purchased the right to a portion of these modules from SenseNet. The modules will provide the base for Alydaar's ERP offering and serve as a device to help clients formulate their own ERP solutions. SenseNet will continue to provide research and development to the product line and assist in Alydaar's service to clients.

"I think it is fair to say that together Alydaar and SenseNet are helping to humanize the enterprise," said Paul Gilson, CEO of SenseNet. "Both Alydaar and SenseNet believe in working with—not against—a client's culture. We work with clients to develop solutions that operate within their existing business framework. Systems automation should be a simple business process. People should be excited about the ease and simplicity that comes with a streamlined enterprise. Essentially, we celebrate the individuality of the client, rather than force fitting them into a particular mold."

"While we will continue to help clients prepare for the Year 2000, we recognize the need to simultaneously develop our business so that we can take ourselves and our clients beyond the dawn of the millenium," said Gruder. "We want to take the next logical step and capitalize on what we've learned through our Year 2000 work—that's why we are moving into ERP. Going forward, Alydaar intends to be a major supplier of enterprise wide solutions, including legacy transformation, network integration, and web based ERP management."
