I'm using MS Money, with Checkfree as the online bill-payment provider. I believe it costs me $9.95 for the first 20 checks/month, with a per-check charge after that. I usually incur the $9.95 and a $2-$3 extra each month.

>>>I'm confused by the $9.95 you guys are talking about.

CheckFree offers a service called Extra, available directly from CheckFree instead of through a bank. The Extra level of service gets you the ability to use the touchtone phone product as well as the PC product. There are some other perks as well, like a waiver of fees for most services that typically carry a charge, like a change of checking accounts, etc.

And as the name implies, it costs extra. CheckFree has been trying to move its direct customers over to the banks so as not to compete with its own customers. To encourage folks to do just that, CF boosted their fees for direct customers, so that it would be more expensive to use CheckFree directly than using CheckFree through a bank.

Hope I didn't muddy the waters too much.
