09:20 ET VLSI Technology (VLSI) 7 3/16: Manufacturer of chips for the wireless communications industry reported a Q3 profit of $0.03 a share, beating the First Call mean loss estimate of $0.02. However, DLJ cutting its 1999 earnings estimate from $0.62 to $0.30 (-52%), citing company's limited near-term possibilities and on-going management turmoil and essentially flat sequential revenue growth for the Dec. qtr. VLSI flat in pre-market. DAMN!
