Chairman's Wife Starts 'Global' Trend

October 16, 1998 DENVER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE) via
NewsEdge Corporation -- A Message from
USA Global Link's Chairman, Dr. Christopher
W. Hartnett, In Celebration of Company's
Six-Year Anniversary

Need a good name for your upstart
Internet/telecommunications company? If
you're experiencing a creative block, maybe
you should ask your wife. Actually, rather
than stealing another company's name,
asking your spouse may be the smartest
thing to do. Six years ago today, on October
15, 1992, Dr. Linda S. D. Hartnett, a Ph.D. in
business management, housewife, mother of
three and artist, gave her husband a
suggested name for his new global telecom
company. "USA Global Link" was her
excellent, original, creative and visionary
contribution. This was at a time, mind you,
when British Telecom, KDD, AT& T, Sprint,
MCI, DT, France Telecom and others were all
enjoying mega-monopoly status and
dominant market share. "Global" was a truly
foreign word in those days. The rest of the
world's PTTs and telephone monopolies were
happy that competitors stayed out of their
exclusive territories. Many countries had laws
against competition.

Things change, and so do company names.
Back then, USA Global Link was quickly
becoming recognized worldwide, in over 160
countries and territories, as the first of a
new generation of global telcos. We were
crowned "King of the Callbacks," and took on
such nicknames as "USA Global," " Global" and
"Global Link." Mysteriously, competitors
began to crop up with such similar names as
"World Link," "Global One, " "Global Access,"
"Global Telecom Solutions," " Global Startec,"
"Global Telecom," "Global Telephony," "Global
Call," "Global Gateway," "Global Crossing, "
"E-Global," "ICO Global," "Orbcomm Global, "
"Globix," etc... The word "global" seems to
have found great prominence and favor in
the present international telecommunications
vocabulary. Thank you Dr. Linda.

In celebration of USA Global Link's birthday
today, and also in honor and
acknowledgment of its Founding Mother's
original creative vision, we would like to
thank our entire global family of friends,
customers and employees for their good
wishes, patronage and tremendous support
during the first six years of our business' life.
We look forward to unbounded growth
together and welcome the opportunity to
serve your communication needs far into the
new millennium.--Dr. Christopher W.
Hartnett, Founder and Chairman

IDT Aggressively Launches Net2Phone Pro with Worldwide Reseller Program

Provides Drastic Reduction of Corporate Phone Bills by Routing PBX
Minutes Over the Internet

HACKENSACK, N.J--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 19, 1998-- IDT Corporation (NASDAQ:
IDTC - news) today launched an aggressive reseller program to distribute its Net2Phone Pro
services to international callers around the world.

Net2Phone Pro(R) is a hardware and software solution enabling both corporate and residential users
to make high quality phone calls through their phones and/or corporate PBX at significantly reduced
rates. A one-port gateway solution, Net2Phone Pro instantly converts voice into data for
transmission via the Internet to IDT's global network. Simultaneously, IDT's terminating gateways
convert the data back into voice and route the call as a standard toll-quality call to any telephone in
the world. Net2Phone Pro incorporates a specially developed version of Quicknet Technology's
Internet PhoneJACK(TM) to provide the plug-in for any regular phone system.

Through IDT's new reseller program, Net2Phone Pro will be sold wholesale to resellers and
distributors worldwide. The Company believes that the technically-oriented reseller is the ideal
channel to bring Net2Phone Pro to corporate customers. The Company has test marketed
Net2Phone Pro in three major international metropolitan areas with great response, and anticipates
the worldwide reseller program to be a success as well.

''Net2Phone Pro is perfect for an international reseller knowledgeable of the Internet and/or telecom
industry,'' says Jonathan Rand, Vice President, International Sales, Net2Phone. ''The installation of
Net2Phone Pro is simple but best provided by a local support team. The calling service is designed
to create a significant long-term revenue stream based on repeated international long distance calling.
IDT's test market of the Net2Phone Pro service has proven extremely successful both for customers
and our resellers.''

This is not the first innovative program brought to the communications arena by IDT. IDT invented
international callback and grew the service successfully throughout the world based on a reseller
program launched in 1992. IDT then introduced Net2Phone to the world over two years ago, the
first service to enable an end-user with a multimedia PC to call any phone through use of the
Internet. Net2Phone Pro is a natural extension of Net2Phone, creating a familiar calling environment
for the end-user, because they use a telephone to initiate calls. For more information about
Net2Phone Pro, please visit www.net2phonepro.com or call 201-928-2878.

IDT is a leading emerging multinational carrier that combines its position as an international
telecommunications operator, its experience as an Internet service provider and its leading position in
Internet telephony to provide a broad range of telecommunications services to its wholesale and
retail customers worldwide. The company provides its customers with integrated and competitively
priced international and domestic long distance, pre-paid calling cards, Internet access and, through
its Net2Phone product offerings, Internet telephony services including Net2Phone Direct, Net2Fax,
and Click2Talk. For more information about IDT's Internet telephony services, please visit
www.net2phone.com.

Except for historical information, all of the expectations and assumptions contained in the foregoing
are forward-looking statements involving risks and uncertainties. Important factors that could cause
actual results to differ materially from such forward-looking statements, include, but are not limited
to, the competitive environment for Internet telephony, changes of rates of all related telco rates and
services, legislation that may affect the Internet Telephony industry, IDT 's ability to operate the
services described on a large scale commercial level. For additional information regarding these and
other risks associated with the Company's business refer to the Company's reports filed with the
SEC.
