Steve,I'm kinda behind. As someone once said:

or may be they didn't. But they should have.
I think I did have a lucky childhood in many ways, but that particular golden haze is reserved for those summer weeks. There were also periods swollen with bruised emotions and trimmed round with black.
Being different is one of the worst things to be when you're 13. However, normal makes me shudder. A long, long time ago, several of us here discovered that we weren't very normal as children--that we lived a great deal in fantasy and books and were alone a lot for various reasons. In a lot of ways our life choices reflect that "aloneness". Which may be why we are here. And why you are here, too!
(I like us a lot, though.)
