I think if you want to write calls against your stock, it must be in a margin account.

PS: I know there was some issue about lending stock to others for shorting, but refresh my memory. Why don't I want my broker to allow my stock to be borrowed for shorting?

If I sell it while it's borrowed, they just "call it back", right?
