Tom,

This threat of competition from ORCL, SAP, and BAAN is nothing new.

Check out INFM, which is in a similar niche with PSQL.

My analysis is that this fear is an over-reaction. Small companies will *never* be able to get the same level of support from the 900-lb gorrilas that they can (and do) get from a PSQL or INFM.

As a software developer myself (don't ask, scientific stuff in FORTRAN) i know how important support is.

The S&P 500s have *no problem* getting good support from the larger ERP suppliers. But the Russell 2000 companies (and smaller) cannot, and they will find someone else who can offer it to them. This niche is not going to go away.

And. Once the system is installed, it's a *lot* of work and money and aggravation to switch over to a new provider.

David

P.S. I'm not averaging down. Prefer to just hold. And conserve cash.
My PSQL is in a long-term IRA. I gave up daytrading because of the insomnia.
