Lebed seems fair to me. He recognizes power. That is why he courts it. Anyway who says he is the friend of the money grifters? Maybe that is what Yeltsin says. I read Lebed as a person who realizes Russias real plight and lawlessness and wants to do something about it. He is a strong man and a man of action. Russia needs weak? Who said he was an evil loose cannon? A commie? I like him because he was the guy who first addressed a meeting of Western business men in Russia as the economy opened up. His opening line to them?: "Hello Crooks". He knows it. EC<:-}
