Yes Alcatel is big in DSL and has lots of phone lines. I'm not sure what this does for ASND-that's my only comment and my only point.

Slice it any way you want, but losing Alcatel as a partner is not a coup for Cisco.

Way to go, Pat! As I understand it, Alcatel has quite a presence in China and Europe. Wouldn't it be nice to see Ascend router cards deployed big-time in China?
