Margaret, I'm not sure if others have answered you, but I prefer to use the 14-period setting because it gives signals timed for trades with a holding period of 1 to 4 weeks. Most of my trades now are held 1 week or less, but I still like the slower responding 14 period, as it tends to give less "false" signals. This has been backtested over many months, and was confirmed in my 2 months of papertrading before applying it to the system with real money. TC.
