No candidates here Ryan. Rose colored glasses are de rigour. We are not interested in dealing with anything that might detract from our expectations for this poorly run company.

I joined the SI forum exactly because the yahoos and Yahoo! were so juvenile in their commentary. I find you get a better class of thinking when people have to pay something to participate.

As far as being in thrall of Stempel is concerned, as mentioned in a recent post, liquidity in the small caps in general has almost evaporated, and I don't think that can be blamed on Stempel. Take TriGen Energy, for example, a fascinating set of small companies largely owned by the French Company, Suez Lyonnaise. TGN is listed on the NYSE, but it has plenty of days recently when it simply doesn't trade. Or, look at the Chinese stocks such as Shanghai Petroleum. Recently, Shanghai was trading at a PE of 3 with a yield of over 15%, if memory serves. Again, listed on the NYSE, but very much out of favor.

True, I would definitely admit to being entralled by Stan Ovshinsky. I think he a phenomenally great American entrepreneur. An internationalist genius. The sort of holistic thinker desperately needed by this incredibly irrational, environmentally degrading planet. Like Edison or Bell or Land, he is an avatar. So, I'm not a short-termer as far as his company is concerned. Looks to me as though energy has got about 100 bets on the table and something is likely to hit.

To repeat my initial post, I do worry about the huge bump that will show up at the point of true succession from the founder's leadership in this company. Hopefully Stempel or someone else will be capable of leading the company through that transition period.

The company's patents alone are worth many millions of dollars. Thank God Stan and Iris control them.
