The paper claimed that Mr. Gates would be intimidated by the kids. I find it hard to believe that given all the obstacles Mr. Gates has overcome to get where he is, that he would be intimidated by some kids. Does anyone know the real story here? PW.

I don't know about the "obstacles overcome" part, but Bill seems to be getting a bit shy these days, PMS Witch. Maybe it's related to the premature senility he exhibited under deposition. He couldn't remember a thing! In case you missed it, a brief outtake from anothers story, nytimes.com .

The notion that Gates, the nation's wealthiest person and the head of the company that dominates the personal computer software industry, would be the supplicant in any business meeting leaves Microsoft's critics unconvinced.

Needless to say, I'm unconvinced myself, but nevertheless amused. Maybe he thinks there'll be a repeat of the Harlem kid after this spring's Senate testimony, where Bill got asked why it took Microsoft 10 years to ship a (sort of) 32 bit OS for Intel's 32 bit processors, and his answer was "It took time for the hardware to catch up with the software." ?????

Cheers, Dan.
