New SmartMoney Plug:

Conroy's best bet is small-cap Semtech (Nasdaq: SMTC, $19), a producer of two types of chips. One directs power to microprocessors in personal computers. The other protects microprocessors from power surges. Despite being based in California, Semtech fits the analyst's criteria of being a fast grower and serving PC makers. In fact, customers such as Hewlett-Packard, Compaq and Intel have helped it beat estimates in four of the last five quarters. Conroy thinks the share price may hit $24 in the next 12 months.
