Donald: The Dow Industrials upper descending trend line you and I discussed over the weekend (highs 7/20 to 9/29) extended forward for today is approximately 8000.

Each day this week the trend line has been penetrated. That has not happened on any of the previous bear flag rallies.

In addition: If you create a new trend using Monday's high, extended forward for today it is approximately 8100.

The Market is indeed showing signs of strength, not displayed since the July Top.

Hi donald..

Re what's the trend.

I've noticed a change in the duration of up moves vs the duration of down moves. The duration of the up moves seem to have gotten longer than the down moves.

Re LGs concern about third quarter reports hitting 401k holders.

caught a couple of bits of report of a survey that seemed to indicate that long term holders such as these have been prepared well enough to continue holding for a while longer. Some percentage selling? Yes. But I now believe that that percentage is smaller than I expected.

Now .. the classic sell sign .. I've gone bullish.

Don, I realise that you have a number of different indicators, but assuming that there isn't a breakout, and given that this move upwards is so strong, why is the guitar reflex downwards now invalidated ? (or is it just delayed ?). You are now saying that any downwards movement of 100-200 points could prompt a move up of 200-400 points. Are you now indicating that there has been a breakout, so the guitar reflex is now related to the more recent move, or are there a sequence of guitar reflexes ? Do you now think that the 'bubble bubble' has more substance to it ??

As always, thanks for your clarification ... sorry for all the 'nows' !!

Good luck everyone

Stephen
