Senator Pothole does not have the same strength that he has had before. He basically spent most of his money early trying to boost his own negative ratings. So he's going into the final weeks with about the same amount of money as Schumer. He's never gone into the last weeks without a huge money advantage. He is badly positioned on the abortion issue which is very important to downstate New Yorkers, making Schumer look like the moderate on the issue. As the impeachment issue turns on the GOP, which it appears to be doing, D'Amato's support will slip.
