jaime choy: Yes, you are right! The SPX, NYA, and others are leading the Dow Industrials.

However, donald primarily uses the Dow Industrials as his vehicle to report, as do I. After all, it is the most watched index of them all! <g>

The Dow Industrials do not always lead, but it is the one most reported on and most watched by John Q. Public. And, that is where its importance is derived.

LG

jaime choy: In addition to my previous post, I need to point out, as I agree other indices are showing strength in this rise, none of the major indices I follow have broken their respective descending trend lines as has the Dow Industrials.

This list includes, the Dow Composite, Dow Transports, SPX, NYA, NASDQ Composite, and the RUT!

I think that will hold true with either Actual or Theoretical Data!

But today may change that!

Regards,
LG

EDIT: OEX has penetrated its upper descending trend line intra day, today!
