Actually Bill, at least here it wasn't due to busing. Busing was the remedy for "economic" flight. The politicians refused to reduce or eliminate the taxes that set the business exodus in motion. Without an economic base there is no economic support for the schools, so they basically "shipped 'em out" instead of doing what they could to re-vitalize the city, bring in new business that would support families and schools. So now they're screwed. Busing is going by the wayside, the schools still are worse than ever, and the poor remain. Yet Bill Clinton can't see his way clear to give these poor people vouchers so their kids can go to better schools and hopefully have a better life than their parents. Sad situation. bp

Some have called it "white flight", but more appropriately, it was economic flight. All due to busing.

What an unbelievable gross oversimplification. We had white flight out here and there was no busing.
