Nanopierce Technologies, Inc. Enforces Intellectual Property Ownership

DENVER, Colo., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Nanopierce Technologies, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: NPCT) today asserted its legal and rightful ownership of
its valuable IP by obtaining a Temporary Restraining Order against Louis
DiFrancesco in the District Court in and for the City and County of Denver,
State of Colorado. The IP was purchased from DiFrancesco in 1996.
DiFrancesco is the original inventor of Nanopierce's particle interconnect
technology. The Temporary Restraining Order restrains DiFrancesco from making
any statements concerning his purported ownership rights in or to Nanopierce's
intellectual property assets consisting of the patents, licenses and royalty
rights; from contacting actual or potential customers, licensees, and
investors of Nonopierce; using any name confusingly similar to Nanopierce's
Particle Interconnect; and contacting any actual or potential customer,
licensees and investors under the auspices that he represents, works for or is
associated with Nanopierce or that he owns the Patents or is entitled to any
royalties.
Nanopierce has also filed a Complaint for Declaratory and Injunctive
Relief against DiFrancesco asking the court to declare that the patents
assigned to Nanopierce are the sole property of Nanopierce; that it is
entitled to all royalties from third party licensees; that DiFrancesco's
Consulting Agreement was terminated and that DiFrancesco has no right to use
the particle interconnect name or trademark.

intend to eliminate any doubt about the legitimacy of title to our corporate
properties and dispel the damaging confusion created in our public securities
market by Mr. DiFrancesco's spurious allegations and claims."
Nanopierce owns ten patents, seven patent applications pending, two patent
applications in preparation and other intellectual properties, relating to the
particle interconnect technology used in its Nanopierce Technology Material
(NTM). This advanced process & material is designed to provide a significant
improvement over conventional electrical and mechanical interconnection
methods for high-density circuit boards, components, sockets, connectors,
semiconductor packaging and electronic systems.
