Tench, Check out Compaq's roll out of Alpha next monday. Supports up to 200 CPU' high end. Workstations from $5K for low end. On the P2P issues: AMD get's higher performance with p2p. They also get higher performance with the bigger L2 cache - up to 8Mb. They also get higher performance with L1 128K. They also get higher performance with the 200 Mhz system bus (efficent use of RDRAM speeds). They also get higher performance with the multiple FPU's. Are you getting the picture??? Higher performance, smaller die sizes. Higher ASP's, lower costs. Are you getting the picture??? Higher margins, Higher Stock prices. Are you getting the picture???
